Picture Catch Up

Here is a picture of the kids working on their Autumn lapbook--the one that inspired me to take a field trip to GA. We have been doing a lot of lapbook style learning and the kids seem to be enjoying it and learning a lot. Right now Grace and Joe and I are blitzing our way through Evan Moor's Native Americans study. This style of teaching and learning is very teacher intensive but so worth it. I think a lot of people don't succeed with lapbooking because they expect too much out of the kids. I do A LOT of prep so that the kids don't get bogged down and can focus on the learning part. One of these days I'll do a picture post of some of our latest projects.
After the kids trick or treat they do a bunch of candy trading. Hannah ended up with a TON of lollipops--her favorite!
The girls posing for a picture!
The Star Wars crew!
Hannah was "Halloween Girl," Joe was a Jedi, and Grace was a chocolate bar. I totally failed at the Hershey's kiss hat. I should've called Melissa.
We had some canine trick-or-treaters early in the day...we had some dog treats for them.
Henson was dressed as a shark and Joe went and got his "Under the Sea" book to show him what he was.
Our awesome pumpkin was nice and rotted by Halloween. That's what living in FL will do...

Here's Grace with her Native American mask.

The Star Wars picture made me laugh! At least half of the boys at the Cub Scout Halloween party were some sort of Star wars character!
