Birthday Stuff

I had a wonderful birthday today! Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday greetings in one way or another. I have truly felt loved and celebrated today. I had a busy and fun day. We went swimming at H & B's and had cake and presents at their house. I already got a bike a few weeks ago for my birthday but each of the kids picked out a card and a postcard for me and each of them gave me a $10 Barnes and Noble gift card. Hannah also added a King Size Kit Kat candy bar for her good old mom. Their cards were really cute and funny and Joe's postcard was downright hilarious. He kept telling me that I was going to crack up when I opened it and crack up I did. First, let me say that Ollie took them to an innocent local market that carries cards and postcards and he let them pick whatever they wanted. Hannah and Grace both gave me postcards with recipes on them--pecan pie and florida orange meringue pie. Joe's however did not have a recipe. It had a really fat woman in a bikini laid out on the beach with frizzed out bleached hair and a crazy expression on her face and it said, "Havin' Fun in Florida." According to Ollie, Joe insisted on getting that one for me. He knew it would make me laugh. He was right! That little guy loves to make his momma laugh and he knows how to do it (third grade potty humor or big fat half naked women). He sure makes me mad enough that he needs to balance it out with some laughing. My mom made me a wonderful scrapbook with pictures from when Ollie and I were dating, then married, our first house, and then two pages per child and finished off with a few pages of pictures of all of us. It is wonderful!!! If you are in the neighborhood stop in and I'll show you Joe's postcard and my scrapbook. Actually, I may just carry them with me everywhere I go for a while so I can show everybody. I finished my birthday off with dinner with friends at Chili's (Jon and Shelly for you nosy people). We had a great time and enjoyed the adult conversation. All in all, I've had a wonderful day!
