A Simple Woman's Daybook for today...December 1, 2008
Outside my window...it's dark and raining. I'm cheating and doing this on Sunday night. I anticipate the morning to be busy and I need to limit my computer time. I love going to bed listening to the sound of rain and love waking up to the sound of rain.
I am thinking...of everything that needs to be done in the next few days, especially tomorrow!
From the learning rooms...a teacher work day tomorrow and hopefully a normal week after that, we are finishing up our study of Mexico.
I am thankful for...a safe trip home, we drove all the way in the rain--that always makes me nervous. Also, for a great visit with my great aunt and other extended family and my mom, dad, and sister and her family. It's always fun to see them. I am also thankful for a funny mom who is also an amazing ballerina. :0)
From the kitchen...I'm thinking chili tomorrow. Who knows what else. I have to make a grocery list tomorrow and get to the store.
I am wearing...pjs of course.
I am reading...I think I will be starting a Mrs. Pollifax book next. I read "The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes" while in Alabama. Great book!
I am hoping...for a special, meaningful holiday season with my kids.
I am creating...a festive, fun house for the holidays.
I am hearing... the rain and that's it. The family is asleep and I really should be too!
Around the house...I'm in the middle of decorating. I went a little crazy tonight and unpacked, cleaned the living room, and started decorating. I petered out halfway through though. All of this after getting up at 4:30 this morning and driving 9 hours to get home.
One of my favorite things...my Jim Shore nativity set. I love his work. Beautiful and colorful and all folksy.
A few plans for the rest of the week...shopping tomorrow, making cards, tree lighting at the library, Christmas walk downtown, Christmas parade, getting a tree, finish decorating, have a Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate.
Here is a picture thought I'm sharing...

I love the first week of December! Our town is doing all those wonderful tree lighting and parade events, too. I hope the teacher has a productive work day.

Love the picture of your little ones...though they're probably a bit bigger now!
