Fall Fun and a Little Update on Life

The weather cooled off on Thursday and it motivated me to take some time for some Fall fun.  We made a quick stop at our favorite pumpkin patch on the way to a theatre rehearsal on Thursday.  These first pictures are taken with Hannah's camera and the ones at the end of the post are my iPhone pictures.  Unfortunately, the pictures I took of Hannah alone didn't turn out...she loves to take pictures of Grace though so there are lots of her.  She's so photogenic!

On Friday I decided to take a break from the academics and do some fall art.  I think the last time we all did art together was this time last year.  I always think we'll do art but we just don't.  I found some great projects online and I'm so pleased with how these turned out!  I am not artistic at all but was so happy that I was able to make two pretty pictures.  Mine is the one above.  These next two below are Grace's and Hannah's.  Joe's turned out great too but he hated it and didn't want me to take a picture of it.  There is a picture of his further down though in the picture of three of them hanging.

Above is my second picture, it's on a little piece of paper about 5 by 7 size.

We use the clothesline to hang pictures to let them dry or just get them out of the way.  Hannah snapped a picture of me taking a picture...  Below is a little spiderweb craft I picked up at Target.  Hannah also put together a spooky house that I got there too.

We interrupt this Fall fun post for a few pictures of my favorite little boys.  Landon really wanted to make popcorn so we did but I didn't want a big mess in my house so we took it outside and had a popcorn picnic.  We ate a lot of popcorn, fed the ants, and then Dawson dumped the rest and then played in it.

This little guy is TROUBLE!  He sure is cute though and I adore him!

On Tuesday we saw "Jackie and Me, " at the Rep.  It was a great play with a grew story and lesson.  At then end, the actors came out and lead a great discussion about racism and Jackie's character and more.  It was a great field trip.

 And...back to the pictures...

Joe's second picture was a sharpie marker/watercolor painting of a scary graveyard.  It turned out great and he liked it better than his pumpkins.

We have only carved a pumpkin once in our whole family life and that was one year when Grammy and Harrison were here and they did it with us.  Grace asked if she could please carve a pumpkin this year and I said yes for a change.  :0)  Aside from me making the initial hole in the top, she did the whole thing herself.  She did great!  Better than I would do.
Aside from a little break to have some Fall fun, we've been busy around here with school and theatre and normal life.  I have hardly read at all this week, only made my way about 1/3 of the way through the book I'm reading, Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith who is really J.K. Rowling.  I am not loving it but am determined to finish it.  Rehearsals for A Christmas Story are going well.  They are through the first act and have a run through of that tomorrow.  I really can't wait to see this show!  "Annie, Jr." roles were announced today and Joe will play Rooster, Hannah will play Lily, and Grace is the Star-to-be and has a solo in NYC.  Everybody was happy with their parts and that made me happy too!  I hate when they are disappointed or sad.  It's actually very unusual for them all to be happy so I'm thankful!  The weather has turned cool these last couple of days and I love it.  We are heading into the best time of year to live in Florida.
It's almost ten and I still haven't done the dinner dishes...off to do those and then maybe some reading time before I fall asleep.  Tomorrow is another busy day...church, rehearsal, youth, lesson planning, cooking, and hopefully a nap thrown in!

Headshots by Hannah

Grace, Joe, and Anabel (Grace's friend who is practically my fourth child) all needed headshots for the program for "A Christmas Story," and Hannah took over as photographer.  She got some great pictures, here is a sampling of my favorites....

Fall-lies Spooktacular Picture Post

Hannah played Katie, one of the Osbourne kids, you'll see her dressed as a cat in most of the pictures.  On her ensemble night she was mostly dressed as a zombie, there are some pictures of her from then too towards the bottom.  Joe played Jimmy, the boy who ruined Halloween for his family.  He was Jimmy both show nights so you'll see him with two different casts of siblings and babysitter.  Grace was a Princess, a zombie, and a Men in Black back up dancer both nights.  The show was great, the kids were great, the end.  Enjoy the pictures!
