Pictures--Fourth of July

On Saturday (4th of July) we had a family picnic at a park across the street from the hotel. That night they put on a huge fireworks display. I think it lasted about an hour which in my opinion is about 40 minutes too long. I mean, just how exciting are fireworks after the first 50 or so?
Very dark picture but this is our group.
Are these girls cute or what???

Grace and Joe and a couple of cousins spent most of the day on this spinny thing. At one point they had a bag of chips that they were eating while spinning. It made me sick just watching them.

Pictures--Family Talent Show

On Friday night we had a family talent show. Mostly the kids participated but there was one fun song by a group of the ladies.
These little guys sang "Jesus Loves Me" along with the older kids. I don't have a picture of all of them up there though.
These are Joe's second favorite cousin and third favorite cousin. He made sure to tell them that and that his first favorite cousin is Harrison.
Hannah and Jenny did the Hoedown Throwdown while Grace sang the song and Ellie drummed it. They actually had to do an encore performance because everybody liked it so much.

And, Ellie also read a poem that she wrote. It was really good, I was impressed.

Pictures--Tree Adventure

This made me laugh--he's being so ugly to Grace and then a big smile. What a little pain!

Here's our group at the beginning of the hike. It was drizzling but later stopped.

Kea being brave and holding a ladybug.

This was one of many art displays. It's supposed to represent the inside of a tree.
The view from a really high treehouse.

Umbrellas were the big thrill for the younger set.
Giant praying mantises in the trees!!

Pictures--Around the Hotel

The hotel we stayed in was really nice. One of the big attractions for all the kids was the indoor pool. Here is Grace with her cousins in the baby pool.
These next pictures were taken from the back of the hotel. There is a terrace that overlooks a hazelnut tree grove. Also, on the lawn in front of the trees there was usually a couple of bunnies munching on the grass.

Pictures--Getting There

Here's Joe with Taylor his Webkin in the airport while waiting for the rental car.
And--the rental car!!! Ollie and I both wanted the Dodge Charger--the kids, not so much.
