Europe 2016...Greenock, Scotland

Our last stop in Scotland was in Greenock, from there we drove about an hour or so to visit Stirling Castle.  This area is the historical location of the battles in the movie, Braveheart.  We enjoyed our tour of the castle and especially enjoyed talking to some of the actors that are dressed in period clothing and are able to tell us what life was like in the castle.  Below...Hannah and Grace ran into a friend from the cruise.  :0)  The castle is up on a hill and the views of the countryside were so pretty from there.

More "Adventures of the Red Shoe."  The pic below is one of my favorites.
After our visit to Stirling Castle, we went to a restaurant for lunch.  The name of the restaurant..."The Birds and Bees."  Clearly, this means something different in the US.  :0)  The tower in the picture below is a monument to William Wallace (Braveheart).  Fun fact...when I went to Scotland about 11 years ago as a chaperone with our babysitter at the time, we climbed to the top of that tower!

After lunch, we went to a museum that is all about Robert the Bruce who involved in the Battle of Bannockburn.  I haven't seen the movie, Braveheart, but I'm pretty sure this battle was in that movie too.  We watched a 3-D movie about it and also got to see a really cool presentation all about that battle.

These girls cracked me up with these silly poses...they are pretty funny girls.

Grace met a sweet dog.  :0)  Back inside, they had a room where you could try on chain mail and Grace and Joe both got dressed up.  The headpiece was super heavy.

It looks beautiful! We learned all about William Wallace and Robert Bruce this year in school. I'm loving the kids in chain mail...
