Joe's Quilt

Well, it's done. It's not done well but it's done. I have been wanting to make him a quilt for a couple of years and was waiting until I had the time and money to do a really nice quilt. Well, I'm short on both and I think I will forever be short on both. So, necessity prevailed and he now has a quilt. I think I've already told this story but a couple of months ago he threw up on his old comforter and has refused to have it on his bed since then. I thought with time he would get over this but he hasn't. Now the weather has turned chilly and he needs a warm blanket on his bed. I decided to just use scraps and make him a quilt. My plan was to put the vomit comforter inside this one as the batting. So, I had the vomit one on the floor yesterday using it to measure and Joe had a fit. He was not going to sleep on a quilt that had his vomit comforter inside it. He even went so far as to say that he couldn't sleep on the quilt ever because it had touched his vomit comforter. I was beyond aggravated with him. I just pressed on and hoped he'd get over the fact that it touched his vomit one. He did. I used a different old quilt for the batting and an old sheet for the backing. The old sheet is Superman so it makes a pretty cool back. I did the short cut binding and we have a quilt! I truly slapped the thing together yesterday and aside from some glaring puckers and mistakes--it doesn't look half bad. Joe has it on his bed and slept under it last night. He claims that he likes it but doesn't love it. Oh well. I only spent $7!
