After the bathroom stop, we went into a little store where we surveyed the interesting assortment of snacks and came out with cookies. We all passed on the Beef Grills as well as the Bacon Streaks.
After our cookies we walked over the the church and enjoyed walking around the inside where it was dry. I thought the toddler prayer book and Bible story book were so cute and showed that little ones are welcome in this little congregation. The needlepoint pillows were also so neat to see, they were all different and looked hand stitched.
The rain had stopped by the time we came out and we all took turns (except for Joe) taking our pictures on this bench...it looked so pretty with the yellow flowers hanging behind it. After our photo session we went for some tea and refreshment at the tea room.
My tea was delicious and I got a little silly because I was so happy to be drinking tea in England, Hannah captured my ridiculous face. :0)
On the way back to Newcastle (or maybe it was on our way out of Newcastle...), we passed a few different ruins of Hadrian's Wall. This wall dates back to 122 AD. Here's what Wikipedia says about it, "Hadrian's Wall (Latin: Vallum Aelium), also called the Roman Wall, Picts' Wall, or Vallum Hadriani in Latin, was a defensive fortification in the Roman province of Britannia, begun in 122 AD in the reign of the emperor Hadrian. It ran from the banks of the River Tyne near the North Sea to the Solway Firth on the Irish Sea, and was the northern limit of the Roman Empire."
By the time we got back to the ship, there were lots of people from Newcastle milling around to see the ship and they all got very excited when some of the characters came out on deck to wave at them. As we left that day, there were people lining the shore all the way until the land ended and we were back out at sea. It was the Disney Magic's first time in that port and it was very exciting.
