Sewing Day

Yesterday the girls spent the morning at a friends honing their sewing skills. They had two projects to complete--a beach bag and a quilt block. The moms cut out the fabric and pinned it and the girls did the sewing. I have to say that they did a great job! Hannah was able to do most of her sewing completely by herself and Grace was almost there by the end of the morning. I sit with her but she was slowly getting how to keep your fabric straight and follow the seam allowance. Most importantly, they had fun and learned some new things--how to make straps, how to put those straps in, and how to make a bag. It is fun to see them learn these new things at such a young age.
