Report from the Doctor

I saw the doctor today to get the results of the bloodwork he ordered.  As I think everyone knows--I have chronic joint pain, particularly in my fingers, knees, toes, and sometimes my ankles.  So, I didn't get any bad news today and for that I'm very thankful.  I didn't get any real answers  either.  He tested me for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus and both came back negative.  Woohoo!!!  I was really worried about those two.  I've been taking Advil and another prescription pretty consistently for about a year (not at the same time--I alternate) and I was concerned about the effect on my liver.  He did a liver functioning test and kidney functioning and both came back perfect.  I have low cholesterol but am a little anemic.  Still no definitive explanation for my chronic pain.  He referred me to a Rheumatologist to try to narrow down what my problem could be.  I'm not sure if I will go or not.  He is fairly certain (and so am I) that I am suffering from Psoriatic Arthritis.  I've had Psoriasis (a mild case) for about 15 years now and 25% of people with Psoriasis develop Psoriatic arthritis.  The treatment would only be to do what I'm doing now--take anti-inflammatories.  Apparently there are lots of different kinds of arthritis and he's relatively sure I have one of them.  I am relieved that there is nothing more serious going on.
