I couldn't be happier with our new Tuesday Home Ec day. I am finally getting a handle on the constant housework and my kids are learning a lot. Not only how to clean but how to clean joyfully and willingly. We had a little bit of trouble with attitude last week on Hannah's part. Before we started today I told her that she would be sweeping again and if she could do it joyfully (or at least without complaint) then Grace could do that chore next week. I also told them all that if anyone complained they would spend the first half hour at the park sitting with me. So, no complaining and LOTS of work got done! I am thrilled! This is what we accomplished today--

(note that the "kid" calendar is still on February--I meant to remedy that today but didn't get to it yet)
- cleaned out the bunny cage and the outside hutch--Grace and I
- vacuumed the whole house--Joe, Hannah, and I
- swept the foyer and Florida room--Hannah
- cleaned both bathrooms--the kids
- washed the cabinets, wall, and the front of the stove in the kitchen--Joe
- mopped the kitchen (wasn't planning on this but Joe spilled so much water that mopping it up turned into mopping the kitchen)--Joe and I
- cleaned the kitchen sink and counters--me
- kid's bedrooms--Hannah and Joe

good job guys!
I remember Thursday evenings/nights was cleaning time at Mom's house. It's just the way it was and we all knew it!
Yall even make it look like fun. Every one is smiling and happy!!
I love to clean and call it therapy!!I know I am not NORMAL--
everything looks clean as a whistle!
Excellent...looks great!
Wow - I think that's more than I get done in a week. I have big goals for later this week when my hubby is gone, so hopefully I will also have smiling faces when they all assist me! :)
I think you have a great idea going - I hope to copy it!
lookin good! Joe's hair came out cute too. glad you finally have a system that works for you!
We cleaned today and had a very similar list. It took us a little less than an hour and I was thrilled. I told them when we got it done we would play a board game.
So, we just finished a game of Snorta!
Awesome! Awesome! Way to go guys! Woohoo!
I remember Sat mornings were "work day" when I was a kid. My brother and I were always trying to watch cartoons instead.
Great idea! I'm trying to dole out more chores here too. It's tough when mine have a brother who is not around much and is not at all helpful. :(
