Well, I got the sewing bug tonight and I actually succeeded at making something! I started early with a pattern out of a book for a dress for Hannah's doll. I got halfway through it and realized it was not going to fit at all. Sound familiar, S? So, I put it all away and spent some time with the family and decided to just forget it. But, once they were all in bed I decided to try out the seemingly complicated pattern I had recently bought Hannah for her birthday. Well, it seemed to be going well so I kept going. I finished and it still looked good but the true test would be the try on. I have failed so many times that I really don't expect my sewing projects to actually turn out the first time. So, I was shocked and thrilled when it fit perfectly! I even made an apron by looking at one Hannah has and it worked too. Since I was on a roll I made Grace's doll a dress too. I didn't want her feeling left out and who knows when I will get a chance or the desire to do this again. So, they will both wake up to new dresses and aprons for their dolls. Of course, I often have lofty ambitions so now I'm thinking of making them each a couple of solid colored dresses and some fun interchangeable aprons or pinafores. We just may have to go fabric shopping tomorrow!

Maddy wants you to make her one. They look great
Thanks! Have her pick out some fabric and I will make her one someday. Can't make any guarantees when but I will do it.
Fantastic! They look professional! Duly impressed beginner sewer has further reason to realize she has little accomplished in learning to sew. :(
I cannot seem to make or finish anything!
