A Few of My Favorite Things

okay, I admit it--I have nothing much to write about so I will tell you a few of my favorite things, in no particular order--
  • clean kids--this is surprising considering how seldom I bathe the little boogers but I just love when they are all three clean at the same time.  Often I'll catch a whiff of somebody or notice the greasy hair and send the offender to the shower and that's how our bath schedule goes.  But, at least once a week everybody gets bathed all in the same night.  That was tonight.
  • tapioca pudding
  • the first cool, crisp breeze of fall
  • the first time in the fall that I walk into the grocery store and smell those cinnamon brooms
  • going out for the day with my family--Ollie plans some great day trips
  • laughing really hard, like "I'm going to wet my pants laughing"
  • chocolate anything
  • reading to my kids
  • seeing Hannah really into a book--I want her to be an avid reader soooo bad.  She does read but mostly only when I tell her to.  She's too busy creating and playing.  Right now she's in her bed reading, it's 10 and she needs to go to bed but I don't want to stop her because she's doing it all on her own.
  • a really productive school and home day
  • a really good meal that the whole family loves, especially when there are leftovers
  • leftovers--especially my mom's; she has a whole drawer of leftovers that I clean out for her when I come to visit.
  • biking
  • time with my kids without the pressures of school and house
  • playing Skip-Bo and Phase 10
  • working a big, fun jigsaw puzzle
  • discovering a new author
  • America's Funniest Home Videos
  • anything hot to drink when it's cold--chai, hot chocolate, coffee, ...
  • watching travel videos
  • singing in church
  • Thai food
Okay, that's enough for tonight.  What are some of your favorite things?

I love laughing with my family too. I love the lightbulb I see above my kid's heads when something clicks. Special looks between Rod and me. When my near grown kids give me a hug, this could go on and on!

Great list!

You guys are probably not going to understand what I'm trying to say here but I just had to comment. I read chewhi's list as though it weren't a list of separate things. This is what I mean--something clicks when her kids get it and then she and Rod share a special look and then when her kids give her a hug (I'm thinking this is all part of an inside joke) then the laughter goes on and on. It wasn't until I read Ann Marie's comment that I realized it was a list. I think it's too early in the morning...

I was too lazy to hit the return/enter key ;)

I like everyone's postings on this but the song is now stuck in my head!
