A Small Step Toward Independence

Joe decided to make his own Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich the other day. This decision came after he told me how hungry he was, I was laying on the couch and told him that I wasn't getting up and that we would be having dinner soon--get some nuts. He didn't want nuts so he got out all of the stuff to make his own sandwich. I told him he could give it a shot and he did a great job. He even put away everything when he was done, dragged a stool to the sink, and washed his knife. Where in the world did he learn to be so thorough in his clean up??? Enjoy the pics. He was so proud of himself.

Hey Joe, what kind of jelly do you want when you come to Grammy & Pop's. I'll have the bread, peanut butter and jelly.
Can't wait for yall to get here.

Great job Joe!

Tiffany, so you had to get up from the couch to take the pictures though huh?

Yes, you caught me Julie, I did get my lazy butt off the couch to take pictures. Wouldn't do it to feed my child, but for a Kodak moment--anything. That's partly because I'm starved for pictures. We haven't been doing anything exciting lately and I miss having pictures to post.

I especially like that you wouldn't get up to get him something, but wouldn't NOT get up to take pictures. Totally my style :-).

I wouldn't have gotten up to make the sandwich or take the pictures - because, "I can't be bothered!"

Sounds like your "avoid getting my child real food" snack is the same as mine--NUTS. Wesley loved the pictures of Joe! We had to look at each one very carefully.

Next thing you know, he'll be making you one for breakfast in bed!
